Donations &
Contributions to UCAC
Though the
monument has been built, there are still
important ways in which you can
contribute to UCAC. You can purchase a
brick to honor a mentor, friend, or
family member, or just to show your
support for the project. Proceeds from
the purchase of bricks will be used to
maintain the monument and to support the
work of the Oral History Committee.
Membership in UCAC committees is open to
individuals and organizations willing to
share information and learn about
African-American Heritage.
UCAC is a
nonprofit organization that receives
contributions from individuals and
organizations as well as from fund
raising activities. The Dream of the
UCAC is to pass on a rich multicultural
history, display positive images, share
the significant impact of people of
color, foster high self-esteem for our
children, and insure that youth in St.
Mary's County understand that the past
helps shape the future. We will continue
to unite individuals and organizations
to share information and learn about
each other's heritage. Our ad hoc
membership is free and open to the
public. UCAC raises its funding through
public and private donations and grants.

walkway surrounding and leading to the
monument and will serve as a permanent
acknowledgment of their support and
commitment to the importance of
African-American contributions to St.
Mary's County.
