Interview of Mary Frances Greene Morgan on July 13, 2016 by Alma Jordon for the Unified Committee for Afro-American Contributions Oral History Documentation Project. William "Buddy" Greene, Ms. Morgan's youngest sibling sits in along with UCAC volunteer, Merideth Taylor.

 

Ms. Morgan attended the segregated one-room Drayden School in Drayden, Maryland. She discusses her teachers Mr. Stuckey and Ms. Tilghman. They had "hand-me-downs" books and supplies in the schools. Some of her classmates were Alton, Gertie, Cole, Catherine Dyson, Margaret, Isabel, Christine Fenwick, Genevieve Fenwick, Greenes, Theo and Elgman. She went on to Jarboesville High School in Hermanville, Maryland where Ms. Hall was the home economics teacher. She made her graduation dress. Ms. Morgan attended Cortez W. Peters Business School in Baltimore. She was born in 1926 and was married Dan Morgan for 47 years.
